Where the tool goes wrong, and why it is easy to miss

The calendar still shows a week to go when the term has already run out: with notification on 2 November 2026, the last day to appeal is 17 November 2026, while the entry says 24 November. The tool started the term from the registry stamp, the day the copy entered the office, instead of the date on the notice of service. Article 444 makes these terms peremptory, so an appeal filed from 18 to 24 November is out of time. The rule and the arithmetic are right (counting from 10 November, 15 days end on 24 November), so a check of the article and the count passes, and a date later than the real one raises no doubt: few people recheck a deadline that seems to leave time.

The check that catches it

Open the notice of service of the reasoned decision and take the notification date from it, not from the office stamp, the client's email or the scan date. Without the notice of service, do not enter the deadline in the calendar as verified.
Count the days yourself on a calendar: day one is the day after notification, day fifteen is the last day. For notification on 2 November 2026, the last day is 17 November 2026.
Check whether the last day falls on a rest day. If it does, the term ends on the next working day (Article 148 of the Code of Civil Procedure).
Compare your date with the tool's date. When they differ, enter the earlier one and note in the file which document the notification date was taken from.
